Safe Boating
Your safety on the water matters to us. Before you head out, please take a few minutes to review the safety information below. This includes Marsh Creek’s safety checklist and state-required guidelines from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, along with helpful videos to prepare you for a great day on the lake. A little preparation goes a long way toward making sure everyone has a fun, safe time out on the water!
Marsh Creek Safety Checklist
- Customers must be comfortable operating a watercraft before departing. Instruction is available upon request.
- Inspect all equipment before leaving the dock or beach.
- When returning to the dock or beach, do not depart the watercraft on your own, or drag the watercraft along the beach. Wait for Marsh Creek Boat Rental staff to assist you.
- Maintain a safe distance from other boaters and watercraft at all times.
- Never leave a capsized boat. Stay with the boat and do not attempt to swim to shore, a rescue boat will come to you.
- Return to the dock or signal for assistance if weather conditions deteriorate and become threatening.
- Swimming in the lake is strictly prohibited.
- Reckless or disruptive behavior is strictly prohibited.
- Alcohol use in the park and while operating rental equipment is strictly prohibited.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for the constant supervision of children 16 and under, both within the rental area and on the water.
